Novia VC4000 FR Reflective Air Leakage & Vapour Control Layer 1.5m x 50m 75m2

Novia VC400 Reflective is a flame resistant, reflective and airtight Vapour Control Membrane (VCL) designed for use in wall or roof applications requiring high moisture vapour resistance and low moisture vapour permeability. Features flame-resistant additives that mean the membrane will not readily ignite, with a high reflectivity and low emissivity surface. Install on the “warm” (interior) side of your structure and pair with external breather membranes for the “cold” side. Secure with Novia tapes for a secure finish. Suitable for applications which require EN 13501-1 Fire Classification Class B-s1, d0* fire approval (Valid for substrates with fire class A2-s1,d0 or A1 such as 12mm plasterboard, with no cavity between product and substrate. Product tested to EN 13501-1) Supplied unfolded, in rolls Can deliver improved U values when properly applied 1.5m wide UKCA Approved Complies with BS EN 13984 Improves insulation performance Length: 50m Roll Width: 1.5m Coverage: 75m2 Moisture Vapour Permeability in Sd: 4000m Reaction to Fire B-s1, d0* Class Reflectivity 98% * Valid for substrates with fire class A2-s1, d0 or A1 such as 12mm plasterboard, with no cavity between product and substrate. Product tested to EN 13501-1 What is a VCL? Vapour Control Layers (VCLs) are designed to manage the passage of moisture through a building's exterior walls, foundations and rooves and limit condensation within the interstitial layer “between” rooves, walls and floors. Particularly in high-humidity areas like the UK, water-laden air can condense on these structures causing damage over the long term, and reducing the thermal performance of insulation. It is advised to seal your Vapour Control Layer with double-sided butyl tape, followed by a BOPP tape to improve airtightness and increase the efficacy of the Vapour Control Layer. How do I Apply a Vapour Control Layer? A vapour control layer should be applied on the interior side of any wall, roof or flooring, over timber studs before the internal lining. It should be 100% sealed to the structure with double-sided butyl tapes, pre-applied to all areas where a fixing is to be made, and finished with metallised BOPP tapes to ensure a complete vapour seal. It is best used in conjunction with a Breather Membrane applied to the exterior side of the structure.
