Use our green treated feather edge boards to build traditional “close board” style fencing. These feather edge boards are tapered across the width and are designed to be installed overlapped for privacy and water resistance. Combine with our gravel board and exterior wood treatments for a neat and more water-resistant finish. Feather edge boards are cut on a diagonal from a single board - the 22mm thickness refers to this board, finished boards will be a few mm narrower on the wider edge. Feather edge fencing boards, also known as featherboard or closeboard fencing, are a type of wooden fencing typically used for privacy and security purposes. These boards are characterised by their tapered design, with one edge thicker than the other. The design allows the boards to be overlapped, creating a solid and sturdy fence that offers privacy by minimising gaps between the boards. Feather Edge boards typically rough-sawn finish, which adds to their affordability and gives them a classic look. What Does Rough Sawn Mean? This timber is rough-sawn, as opposed to our regularised C16 and C24 timber, or planed timber, which are planed to achieve a very smooth finish. Rough sawn timber has not undergone this further processing which makes it ideal for a more natural finish in outdoor settings and makes it a more affordable product, perfect for garden projects. What Length are 22x125mm Feather Edge Boards? Our green treated feather edge boards are sold in a length of 1.8m - approx 6ft, ideal for fencing. We strive to maintain stock across all sizes of our timber for delivery, but there are occasionally instances where we would look to substitute a longer length as an alternative if there's a delay or unavailability of specific sizes in your area.
